Oscar is an adult landmine victim that lost his vision and both of his arms in an explosion. Unfortunately, Oscar was unable to use the original arms that we built for him as they require vision to be functional.
We asked Oscar what we could do to help alleviate the daily difficulties he faces that should be simple tasks. He told us that he wanted to be able to unlock his front door, without relying on neighbours and people that worked in local shops to do it for him. Humanos3D designed an assistive device that has keys that fold out where the hand would be, at the wrist. This simple but effective device gave Oscar more independence and helped lessen the effects of his disability on carrying out his daily routine.
